Pat Oliver

Pat Oliver is as keen of an angler as there is. Pat is an older version of Ariel and will fish twelve months of the year including the sub zero temperatures of winter. Pat is also a longtime Kitimat resident who has lived in other areas but has always considered Kitimat as his home. Pat's father was a Tug boat skipper so being on the water is hereditary. Some people are "Born to Fish". Pat is in this group as are all the associates of the Reliable Guide and Charter's team.
Pat also is also a key member of our Tackle store staff and has that special ability of explaining the local fishing techniques to all levels of anglers, whether it be in the store or on the water. Ariel Kuppers

Ariel brings a youthful enthusiasm and passion for fishing that is infectious. Ariel will fish twelve months of the year and is just as keen in the sub zero temperatures of January as he is in the warm weather of June. Our clients that have been guided by Ariel have been more than satisfied with Ariel's guiding ability and most comment about his obvious exuberance. Ariel is also a valuable member of our tackle store staff which allows Ariel to be surrounded by fishing 24/7. If Ariel is not fishing personally, he is guiding clients to help them catch fish or assisting our tackle store customers with their fishing related needs. In any of these environments Ariel is in his glory. Ariel lives, breathes, and loves to fish. Although Ariel is junior in years to our other guides, he more than compensates with his passion for fishing. To some, fishing is an art and Ariel is certainly beyond his years in honing the craft.

Eric Neidert

Eric used to live in Prince George and traveled to Kitimat to fish the Kitimat River for over thirteen years.  He loved the Kitimat River so much he moved here.
Eric has fly fished for over thirty years.  Eric has fished the still water lakes of B.C’s interior and the rivers on the B.C’s south coast.  He has also fished the rivers on Vancouver Island but his love for the Kitimat River lured him and his wife Donna to move to Kitimat.

Eric like most Fly anglers enjoys tying flies and he was also a commercial fly tier.  Eric prefers to fly fish but is astute in all fishing techniques. From fly fishing, hot shotting or spin casting Eric will utilize whichever method is the most effective to catching fish.
Eric's love for the the Kitimat River is surpassed only by the love for his wife Donna and the love of fishing.  With hardcore anglers it is difficult to tell in which order  :)  but Eric is fortunate that Donna loves to fish as well.
Eric's passion for fishing the Kitimat River uniquely qualifies Eric as a first class guide.  As is the case with all our guides, to help clients catch fish on a river that we love to be on is almost a blessing.  In short, people doing something they love to do, in a place they love to do it in are enjoyable to be around.
We are proud to have Eric on the Reliable Guide and Charters Team.

Mal Haggard

"King of the Tide Line" is an acronym I gave Mal after some spectacular days fishing in the lower, tidal portions of the Kitimat River.  Mal skippers our jet boat charters on the Tidal portions of the Kitimat River and absolutely loves this fishery.  Mal is a retired R.C.M.P sergeant who has an inherent regard to safety.  Jet boating is an exciting method of traveling to the fishing grounds provided all safety issues are observed.  Mal is an excellent skipper and an awesome guide. Mal has put more clients onto Big Chinook in this fishery than any other angler I know.
We are proud to have Mal Haggard on the Reliable Guide and Charters Team.
